We are seeking volunteers for the Sandia Ridge Neighborhood Association! We are seeking any and help available to help with small programs, social events, and volunteer opportunities within the NA. We have done a lot with the small group of NA leaders so far but we feel we can do more with more help. Ideas are local infrastructure research/lobbying (ie traffic calming), creating group volunteer efforts (food shelter, road clean up), out reach to other neighbors in the couthern part of the neighborhood, fundraising, and social gatherings (Drinks in the Driveway). Please reach out and we can discuss other ideas that would align with our NA beliefs.

Ideas for Events
The Sandia Ridge Neighborhood Association is cooking up a variety of exciting events. We want to host an "Iron Kitchen" competition and garden parties. But we also have other ideas in mind like game nights, pet nights, and holiday celebrations. Do you have something you want us to organize? We'd love to hear it.
Ideas for Resource Sharing
Our neighborhood association fosters a strong sense of community by facilitating resource sharing among neighbors. We encourage residents to offer their skills, services, or items for sale, trade, or barter. This can be anything from handyman services to selling gently used household items such as clothes or toys. By sharing resources, we help each other save money, reduce waste, and build stronger connections within our neighborhood.
Ideas for Altruism
To create a more vibrant and supportive community, we want to organize neighborhood cleanups, yard cleanups, and conduct needs assessments to identify resource deficits. What would help our community thrive? It doesn't have to be solely within our neighborhood -- we could partner with local organizations and offer mentorship programs, skill-sharing workshops, or volunteering opportunities. Let us know your thoughts.
Ideas for Infrastructure Improvements
It's not only community building that we're interested in -- we want to make sure the neighborhood is well-maintained with its infrastructure.
Does a road need re-paving? Help us identify areas that need repair. We'll work with local officials to secure funding for road resurfacing.
Could your street use a speed hump? Propose installing speed humps in areas with excessive speeding to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
Could an intersection use a crosswalk? Request adding crosswalks at busy intersections to facilitate safe pedestrian crossings.
By working together with local officials and community members, you can help improve the infrastructure of our neighborhood and create a safer, more enjoyable environment for everyone.
Ideas for Advocacy
Neighborhood associations have more say than individuals because they can vote as an association, which helps us prioritize the needs of our community. Let us know how we can make our neighborhood better, including in ways that haven't already been mentioned.
